Some Advice on Captioning from Video Caption CorporationSince 1997 Video Caption Corporation has provided captioning and subtitling services to broadcasters, independent producers, schools, libraries, religious institutions, and government agencies. Video Caption Corporation works with various media formats and is prepared to handle a multitude of project types; furthermore, all the work is performed in-house, which permits fast turnarounds and exceptional customer service. It is, unfortunately, very easy for many organizations to let caption quality go by the wayside (e.g., concerns about pleasing the FCC come before the audience toward which the captions are aimed). The captions produced by those whose sole focus is satisfying the FCC are often full of grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors--among others. These issues are nonexistent at Video Caption Corporation, for quality is always first and foremost.
